💭Turning Your Thoughts Into Reality🆘!

ree

Let's talk about it!

Manifest, manifesting, and manifestation have become buzz words as of late. Trendy conversation for views even. If you're on social media, in group gatherings, or other; someone will probably mention the word. What does it mean to you though? Think about a time in your life where you saw a thought you had become your reality. How did you feel?

There are moments in life when you wonder if your dreams are just that, dreams. Moments when the path feels too long, too steep, or too uncertain. Times when you think you're going in the right direction and then you wonder have you made any progress at all. Yet, it’s in holding onto that idea, that spark, even when the world feels heavy, that magic happens.

This year, after holding onto a vision I first set nearly three years ago, I finally manifested one of my biggest goals—being a cover feature in Taji Magazine alongside an incredible group of creatives! This feature isn’t just a cover story; it’s a celebration of persistence, creativity, and the power of never giving up on what sets your soul on fire. I want to share this journey with you, not just to celebrate, but to remind you that the things you’re working toward, even quietly or slowly, are worth it.

The Journey

I am a creative at heart! Since being in existence, I've loved to create with my hands. Whether that was drawing, coloring, crafting, taking things apart and putting them back together, pottery and sketching in high school, my heart has always been fulfilled when I'm creating art. My hands feel when rejuvenated forming and creating with them. This has followed me into my current career where I can now use hair to create art—to tell a story. Deciding to take an unorthodox path in life is not easy, entrepreneurship is not easy but the accountability it takes to go after what your heart is passionate about in spite of, provides an indescribable feeling of satisfaction. But the one thing that keeps me going is the belief and faith that every step, every small action, counts and showing up for myself and my vision, helps me stay committed to the process.

My first introduction to Taji Magazine was in 2016. I loved that the magazine was quarterly with different themes each quarter while focusing on all things positive going on within the diaspora. By 2018 I had landed my first magazine publication ever in Taji Magazine. I felt on top of the world having my first publication be in a black owned magazine

At the time, the magazine's creator was the art typically featured on the cover of the magazine. I continued to submit creations done with with different artists in my area which lead to publication in 2020, and in 2021. I'm proud of the art I've created with others.

By my last publication in the magazine, they had begun to accept cover feature submissions by other artists and creatives. That's when I knew I had to get it. I knew I could create something cover worthy but my energy had to re-shift and focus on new things happening in my life. I actually started to think I may never be able to focus on reaching this goal due to the consistent changes that were happening. But each volumes cover art kept the dream alive in me. Seeing others being featured for their work and creativity was inspiring.

Which leads us to 2025 and finally landing a cover feature in Taji Magazine! From an idea that popped into my head, to meeting about the theme of the volume being submitted for, and being excited about each and every step. These moments reminded me why perseverance matters! This isn’t about recognition—it’s about honoring the work, creativity, and dedication that goes into building something meaningful and putting in the work towards honoring your passions.

The process itself was a lesson in patience, self-expression, and trusting that your efforts will resonate with the right people at the right time. Seeing this cover published was a powerful reminder that consistency and action are the keys to manifesting dreams and thoughts into reality.

Lessons Learned

  1. Dreams Don't Die Unless You Allow Them To: Even when progress seems slow or invisible, your persistence matters. Dreams require time, and every small action contributes to the bigger picture.

  2. Celebrate Every Win: Don’t wait for “the big moment” to celebrate. Every step forward deserves recognition.

  3. Consistency Pays Off: Showing up, even when it feels small or repetitive, compounds over time. Your efforts are building the foundation for your bigger successes.

A Word of Inspiration

If there’s something you’ve been holding close to your heart, something you’ve been quietly working toward, remember this: your dedication matters. Your vision is valid. Your goals are achievable. Keep going, and allow yourself to celebrate each step along the way.

Whether it’s a personal dream, a business goal, or a creative endeavor, the secret lies in combining belief, action, faith, and persistence.

I'm proof that dreams can manifest when you stay consistent, passionate, resilient, and in alignment. I hope sharing this journey encourages you to keep showing up for yourself and your vision, no matter what stage you’re in. Remember: your dreams are worth it. Your work is meaningful. And your persistence will lead you to moments that remind you why you never gave up.
